Gorkha Youth Association (GYA) Kohima during an emergency executive meeting
held at GPPK Hall Kohima on May 23, took strong offence against the use of
derogatory words on the Nepali speaking community allegedly by “Amazon’s web
series Paatal Lok produced by actor Anushka Sharma.”
A press release from GYA Kohima president Narayan Bahadur and general
secretary, Santosh Chetri stated that, “use of such filthy words targeting the
Nepali speaking community in any form and purpose is condemnable and not
at all.”
GYA Kohima further supported the petition of the Bhartiya Gorkha Yuva Parisangh
addressed to Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting “demanding
immediate removal of the English subtitles and also muting the dirty words from
 the web series.”
