Concerned authorities have been carrying out sanitisation of various  quarantine centres to control the spread of COVID-19. Meetings and trainings in regard  to the present situation is being conducted in various districts as preparedness activity.  New SOP for quarantine centres are also being issued by respective district administration.  Meanwhile, civil organisations have appealed to the public and those in quarantine to follow  strict protocol to contain the dreaded virus. Contributions toward combating COVID-19 DIMAPUR | Publish Date: 5/27/2020 10:22:29 AM IST Churches, individuals and other social organisations have contributed towards  COVID-19 fund and also to the quarantine centres with Bibles, gift  packages and other essentials.  BSI distributes Bibles:  Bible Society of India (BSI), Dimapur Auxiliary has  distributed 207 copies of Good News Bible to a few quarantine centres at Dimapur  on May 27. A press release from BSI Dimapur auxiliary secretary,  Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah stated that, the Bibles were distributed to those in need  of comfort at the quarantine centres. Bibles were donated by Opang Paron,  Ruksin Baptist Church, Arunachal Pradesh to the BSI to be given to  people in need at quarantine centres. State Health Minister Himanta  Biswa Sarma has informed that nineteen more people have tested positive for  Coronavirus taking the total number of cases to 616 A tweet put up Himanta Biswa Sarma read:  Nineteen more cases of COVID-19  reported. Seven from Karimganj, five from Goalpara, three from Guwahati, one each  from Dhubri, Hailakandi, Udalguri and Lakhimpur. Assam now has 616 positive  cases, 547 active cases.

Registration for one-time assistance till May 26: Govt DIMAPUR, MAY 23 (NPN) | Publish Date: 5/23/2020 1:25:21 PM IST The state government Saturday informed that the registration of stranded citizens  which opened today, to avail one-time financial assistance through iamstranded. nagaland.gov.in portal, will be made available till 10 a.m. of May 26. Informing  during his daily briefing, principal secretary Home, Abhijit Sinha also said that  Till 4 p.m. of May 23, the state received 3985 applications. He also said that a  total of 11,784 citizens had signed up in the nCOVID-19 Nagaland– Visitors App. During the past 14 days, Sinha said 2095 persons submitted their travel  self-declaration while 1290 persons were being digitally monitored through the  nCOVID-19 visitors App.

He said that the facility for applying on the portal iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in  for one-time financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 reopened on May 24 at 10 a.m.  and will remain open till 10 a.m. of May 26, 2020. GYA Kma demands removal of derogatory words DIMAPUR | Publish Date: 5/24/2020 10:37:14 AM IST Gorkha Youth Association (GYA) Kohima during an emergency executive meeting  held at GPPK Hall Kohima on May 23, took strong offence against the use of  derogatory words on the Nepali speaking community allegedly by “Amazon’s web series Paatal Lok produced by actor Anushka Sharma.”  A press release from GYA Kohima president Narayan Bahadur and general  secretary, Santosh Chetri stated that, “use of such filthy words targeting the Nepali speaking community in any form and purpose is condemnable and not  at all.” GYA Kohima further supported the petition of the Bhartiya Gorkha Yuva Parisangh  addressed to Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting “demanding  immediate removal of the English subtitles and also muting the dirty words from  the web series.”
