In view of the arrival of a special train to Dimapur from Chennai, with around over 1000
stranded citizens, on May 22, the deputy commissioner Dimapur Anoop Khinchi has ordered
closure of all shops/markets with effect from 12 noon till midnight of May 22. DC stated
that this was necessitated as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Vehicular movement restricted
In another notification, Commissioner of Police Dimapur, R. Tetseo has ordered restriction of
all vehicular movements within Dimapur town one hour prior to the arrival of the special train
from Chennai, (expected arrival 1 p.m. on May 22) and four hours post arrival of the train.

CP has further informed that the restriction will also apply to exempted categories earlier
